The inception meetings of the supplementary projects held in Beijing
Since the agreement for the addendum of the projects by using the unallocated funds at end of the 2009 the implementing agencies are currently conducting the inception phase of the projects.
On 10th Dec. 2009, the inception meeting of project C09, Sophisticated modeling of the hourly dispatch for Chinese grid, held in Chinese Electric Power Research Institute (CEPRI) Beijing. And after the inception meeting, the training on Balmore software modeling has been carried out for future application of the dispatch analysis of the pilot project. There were 2 international consultants from Ea consulting Company of Denmark and 15 national experts and engineers from CEPRI and local grid company present at the meeting.
The inception meeting for project B05 “Guidance and requirement for turbine selection”, were held on 12 Jan, 2010 with Mr Jan Svenson, international consultant from Grontmij Carlbro, and experts from CHECC and CWEEA.
The objective of the project is to develop and test a new guidance for selection of wind turbines, to be used by developer and other stakeholders. The guidance will be based on many of the results if the WED output; the feasibility study template, the impact of wake effect and complex terrain as well as the site specific assessment. These outputs will be synthesized in a comprehensive guidance and supplemented with corresponding specific updated information of a number of turbines available in China and illustrated through a case study.
The national and international experts introduced the project background and requirement, the detail assignment and time schedule. It is planned to share the results of the project in the April 2010, during the 4th China International Wind Energy Exhibition and Conference.
The inception activities of the other four supplementary projects are also underway involving national and international experts
The outputs of all the supplementary projects are planed to be published by the end of May 2010.
